United Way of Greater Cleveland Mourns the Loss of Cleveland Play House Managing Director, Kevin Moore

President and CEO, Augie Napoli reflects on the loss of a dear friend to United Way.

Our community has lost a shining light with the recent passing of Cleveland Play House Managing Director Kevin Moore.

Kevin was a very special and devoted leader whose collaborative spirit benefitted thousands in our community, particularly CMSD students. Since 2013, Cleveland Play House and the United Way of Greater Cleveland have partnered in providing wraparound services and resources needed by selected  elementary schools to support student learning, beginning with two schools and adding three more based on the quality of work and commitment of CPH. Through diverse services and resources, this partnership connects the joy of theatre and creativity as an integral part of learning and community building. Due in large part to Kevin’s personal strength and leadership, this work has continued during the pandemic, with Cleveland Play House providing virtual classes to students and families in all CMSD schools as well as in the community wraparound schools.

Kevin valued creativity and innovation, but above all he treasured community. He demonstrated that every day through his giving spirit, his fearlessness and his earnest and unwavering desire to share with so many the unlimited potential he knew that theatre has to teach, to uplift, to challenge and to discover.

He was such a friend and inspiration to many.  Kevin, we will miss you.
